IranFootballOnline - According to FIFA Club World Cup format, "should a team from the host association win its respective confederation's club championship, the highest-placed non-host association team from the confederation's club championship will qualify in the 'host' berth for that year's FIFA Club World Cup."
In the case of the FIFA Club World Cup Japan 2007 it means that even if Sepahan lose the Asian Champions League final to Urawa Reds, it would qualify in the 'host' berth and play in the opening play-off against the OFC champion. It does not matter whether or not Urawa Reds win the JLeague title. But, if Sepahan win the ACL, the only way for Urawa Reds to qualify is by winning the JLeague.
Sepahan have so far secured $500,000 in prize money by qualifying to the FIFA Club World Cup. If Sepahan win ACL, or lose ACL and beat the OFC champion, Waitakere, in the playoff to qualify for the quarter finals, they will earn at least one million dollars in prize money.
